I'm an Independently Licensed Clinical Social worker in the state of Ohio and owner of Tasalli Counseling. In addition to being a private practitioner, I'm also Professor & Director of Social Work at Purdue University Northwest. With over 19 years of practice, teaching and research experience, I'm excited to offer culturally responsive therapy to a broad spectrum of clients. While I work with a wide array of issues, I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and have a particular passion for working with the South Asian diaspora. Having straddled the two worlds of US and India, I understand the South Asian cultural nuances. I've also found that especially people of South Asian descent struggle with finding therapists that look and speak like them.

I specialize in dealing with

  • acute and chronic family and work
    place stressors
    & boundaries

  • trauma

  • anxiety

  • depression

  • low self-esteem

  • perfectionism

I offer racially/cultural sensitive/multicultural counseling. I utilize an eclectic theoretical approach to counseling with evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioral, and EMDR (certified through EMDRIA). My practice includes trauma-informed care and is infused with mindfulness techniques.

Languages Spoken: English, Hindi & Urdu

Editor of South Asians in the US: A guide for Social Workers and Other Helping Professionals.
